Nepal govt unveils Rs 1.860 trillion budget for FY 2024/25

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun revealed the national budget for the forthcoming fiscal year, marking a pivotal moment in economic policy for the nation.

Exceeding the previously set ceiling of Rs 1.8 trillion by the National Planning Commission, the government has allocated a substantial budget of Rs 1.860 trillion for the fiscal year 2024/25.

Breaking down the allocation, a staggering Rs 1.14066 trillion, accounting for 61.31% of the total budget, is designated for recurrent expenditure. Additionally, Rs 352.35 billion, representing 18.94%, is earmarked for capital expenditure, with an additional Rs 367.18 billion directed towards financial management initiatives.

This announcement underscores the government’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and strategic allocation of resources to drive economic growth and stability in the coming year.
