Nepal govt to conduct eye tests in schools

Kathmandu: The government is going to conduct eye tests in Schools.

According to the National Eye Health Strategy (2079-2086) published by the Ministry of Health and Population, school students will be examined every year.

The ministry has brought out a strategy to integrate eye health services with basic health services to increase access to the community level and to make eye services more qualitative.

Co-spokesperson of the Ministry, Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari informed Rashtriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the strategy has been approved and implemented.

It has been mentioned in the strategy that eye health services will be included in the school health program and that vision tests will be done every year in schools.
