Nepal govt mourns passing of President of Iran

Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic passing of the President of Iran, Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, in a helicopter crash that occurred on Sunday.

In a statement posted on the official social platform, X, today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed its deep sadness, stating, “We are deeply saddened to know about the passing of His Excellency Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, President, and His Excellency Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the helicopter crash yesterday.”

The Ministry further extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, as well as the government and people of Iran, during this time of immense loss.

The tragic incident has elicited condolences and sympathy from the international community, highlighting the profound impact of President Raisi’s untimely demise.
