Nepal Government initiates e-visa and online payment services

Kathmandu: Department of Immigration has launched e-visa and online payment services for obtaining new visas, extending visa validity, and obtaining trekking permits. Citizens will now be required to physically visit immigration offices only for services like visa sticker placement.

The introduction of these online services marks a significant step towards digitalization, allowing applicants to apply and make payments online, reducing the need for in-person visits. The new system, effective from the month of Magh, aims to streamline visa-related processes and enhance efficiency.

Additionally, the Ministry has revealed preparations to shift from physical signatures to digital signatures, further facilitating the application and approval process.
