Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 in the Women’s Under-19 Championship.
Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 in the second match of the day in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Wednesday.
For Nepal, Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored two goals and SaBita Rana Magar, Menuka Kumari Ale Magar, Saloni Rana Magar and Rajni Thokar scored one goal each.
After defeating Sri Lanka, Nepal has won the tournament for the first time. With the victory, Nepal has added four points in two games. In the first match, Nepal drew 0-0 with Bangladesh.
Nepal will now play with Bhutan on the 17th and India on the 19th.
The top two teams from five countries including Nepal, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka will enter the final.
In the championship held in 2018, Nepal lost to Bangladesh in the final.
