Nepal beat Philippines by 136 runs in T20 World Cup qualifier

Kathmandu: Nepal has defeated Philippines in the ICC T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers. Nepal defeated Philippines by 136 runs at Al Emirate ground in Oman.

Following the target of 219 runs given by Nepal, the Philippines lost 8 wickets and scored 82 runs. Captain Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets for Nepal.

Gulshan Jha, who made his debut today, also took a wicket. Jitendra Mukhiya, Avinash Bohra, Dipendra Singh Airy and Kushal Malla took one wicket each.

With today’s victory, Nepal has reached the top of the table with four points and has strengthened its chances of reaching the semi-finals.

Earlier, after losing the toss, Nepal scored 218 runs with the help of Kushal Bhurtel’s century and Dipendra Singh Airi’s half-century. This is Nepal’s third-highest score in T20 Internationals.
