NADA demands to lift ban on vehicle import

Kathmandu: The NADA Automobiles Association has demanded to lift ban on the import of vehicles.

The NADA delegation called on Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu and demanded lifting of the ban on import of vehicles.

NADA has demanded that the ban on imports of private vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans be lifted.

During the meeting and discussion, NADA Chairman Dhurba Thapa demanded immediate reopening of the halted vehicle import saying that the government should improve the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Chairman Thapa also said that the automobile business has declined by more than 80 percent in the last eight months due to financial instability in banks and financial institutions, increase in LC margins and doubling of risk management.
