Kathmandu: Homanath Pokharel, an official of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has been detained on allegations of involvement in forging documents to facilitate illicit activities related to international travel.
According to the police, Pokharel’s detention is linked to accusations of assisting in the creation of fraudulent documents for overseas travel. Further investigation is underway, and additional details are expected to emerge as the case unfolds.
The arrest comes amidst controversy surrounding Pokharel’s purported role in facilitating the forging of documents, particularly related to outbound travel to Gulf countries. Thirteen individuals, including a consultancy’s director, have been apprehended in connection with the case.
The police, following an extensive investigation, have gathered evidence leading to the detention of Pokharel and others involved.
