Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Invites Bids for the Purchase of Three New Aircraft as Part of Expansion Plans
In a recent announcement, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has issued a bid invitation for the procurement of three additional aircraft, marking a significant step in their expansion strategy.
The bidding process commenced on Sunday, October 22, and will remain open for submissions until December 5.
The decision to acquire these aircraft was prompted by a recommendation from the Structural and Managerial Study Committee of NAC, which suggested divesting shares in Soaltee Hotel and reallocating the funds towards the acquisition of new planes.
Sudan Kirati, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, shared during a meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee under the House of Representatives that the government is in the final stages of procuring three TwinOtter aircraft. These aircraft are intended to serve remote airports and improve regional connectivity.
Furthermore, he disclosed that NAC has initiated the procurement process as part of their mission to expand their domestic flight network, with a specific focus on connecting with 22 domestic destinations. Presently, NAC operates domestic flights using two TwinOtter aircraft
