Kathmandu: Argentina’s football player Lionel Messi has won the FIFA Player of the Year 2022 award for men.
The 35-year-old Messi from Paris Saint-Germain PSG club has overtaken club teammate Frenchman Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
In a special ceremony held last night in Paris, the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, presented the award to Messi.
Messi, who performed well in the 2022, won the FIFA World Cup under his captaincy.
Argentina defeated France in a tiebreaker at the FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.
