KMC asks govt not to allow any Indian film to be screened until the controversial part of ‘Aadipurush’ is removed

Kathmandu: Mayor Balendra Shah ‘Balen’ of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has written to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to arrange for no Indian movie to be screened in Nepal until the objectionable message ‘Janaki is an Indian daughter’ in the Indian movie ‘Adi Purush’ is removed from the movie.

He wrote a letter to the ministry on Friday and asked them to make arrangements to ban the screening of any Indian film in Nepal until the objectionable parts are removed from the film.

Mayor Shah drew the attention of the Government of Nepal to take diplomatic initiative with the neighboring friendly country India to arrange the removal of the objectionable part of the movie.

Shah has mentioned that because of the cultural encroachment on Nepal through the movie, it has attracted serious attention of KMC.
