Kathmandu: Former Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has announced his separation from the party.

Thapa, who was defeated by Rajendra Lingden on the RPP general convention in November, had been claiming that the former king had interfered on party’s activity.

Former President Thapa demanded that the matter should be investigated and the interference should be condemned.

RPP chairperson Lingden, who initially refused to discuss the issue, met Thapa on Saturday. He also claimed that the demand raised by Thapa was being discussed and a solution would be found soon.

Former president Thapa, who reached his hometown Hetauda on Monday after gathering leaders of his party, announced his resignation from the party on Tuesday.
