Joshi’s body handed over to Kist Hospital for autopsy

Kathmandu: The body of literary centenarian Sathya Mohan Joshi has been handed over to Kist Hospital.

Joshi had announced that he would not cremate his body while he was still alive and give it to the hospital. According to Kist Medical College, the technique of using non-swallowing chemicals is used to keep his mortal body safe.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has paid tribute to the mortal body of cultural expert Joshi with a bouquet of flowers. Along with the ministers, high-ranking officials of the government, leaders, civil society, common people also reached Pulchowk and paid homage to him.

Meanwhile, the government has bid farewell to culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi with national honours.

Centenarian Satya Mohan Joshi passed away on Sunday morning at Kist Hospital during treatment. Joshi, who was born on 1903 in Bakhumbahal, Lalitpur.

The government has also decided to public holiday for one day to mourn his death.
