Indoor training of national football team begins for World Cup qualifiers

Kathmandu: Indoor training of the national football team has started from today.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has started training from today in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.

ANFA has involved 58 players in closed training.

The closed training has been started in preparation for the competition against Chinese Taipei on March 25, Australia on March 30 and Jordan on June 7.

Nepal, Australia, Kuwait, Jordan and Chinese Taipei are in Group B under the Asian selection. Australia tops the list with 12 points, followed by Kuwait and Jordan with 10 points and third, while Nepal is fourth with three points.

The players returned to training last month in a friendly against Bangladesh due to the risk of covid infection.

Last Friday, the AFC announced the rest of the World Cup qualifiers. All players were tested for PCR before participating in the training.
