Indian citizen flying middle-east via Nepal

Kathmandu: After the Middle East countries including Saudi Arabia stopped flights from India, Indian nationals are flying Saudi Arabia via Nepali route.

According to the Department of Immigration, the number of Indian nationals arriving in Nepal has increased at a high rate. In March alone, 7,658 Indians have come to Nepal from India. The number of such arrivals in February was 4,763.

According to the air bubble rules between Nepal and India, one airline of each country is flying daily. But it has become difficult to get tickets on the Kathmandu-Delhi route. Nepal Airlines corporation, which is flying widebody aircraft on this route, has also sought permission to fly to Mumbai and Bangalore.

According to the Indian embassy, before this, only those who wanted to get a ‘No Objection Letter’ were sporadic. Lately, 300/400 applications have been received daily. As the crowd grows, the embassy has set a quota for only 50 people to receive no-objection letters daily.
