Home ministry directed to correct offensive names in citizenship

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed not to use derogatory words in the names of individuals in citizenship.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement today on Monday and directed not to issue citizenship using offensive words to indicate the name and surname of a person in the citizenship.

Similarly, the ministry has also instructed to arrange for the correction of the citizenship issued using derogatory words before, if the concerned person requests to correct it.

After the news of the problems caused by the use of derogatory words in the name of people in different districts published, the matter was raised in Parliament last Sunday.
