Kathmandu: A meeting of the Nijgadh International Airport High Level Facilitation Committee held on Friday has decided to discuss the investment modality of Nijgadh International Airport within a week.
The decision was taken at a meeting of a high-level facilitation committee formed under the coordination of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai at the Ministry of Nijgadh International Airport on Friday.
The meeting has directed to organize a discussion in the Ministry of Finance within a week regarding the modalities of investment for the construction of the airport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal will coordinate it.
The meeting has also decided to submit a concrete action plan with one-year work schedule after discussing with the concerned officials of the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Investment Board and CAAN.
Similarly, the Division Forest Office, Bara has decided to direct the Ministry of Forest and Environment to implement the decision of the previous meeting of the committee regarding the cutting of 4,232 trees already counted for the construction around the airport.
A committee headed by Deepak Kumar Pahadi, joint secretary at the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, has been directed to submit concrete details of the activities to be done in the coming days.
CAAN has also decided to upgrade the airport construction project office and appoint a project head at least two levels above the current one.
