Kathmandu: Four people have been killed in a clash with police in Butwal of Rupandehi district. Four people were killed in a clash with police at Motipur Industrial Area on Sunday.

All the victims are civilians. One of the victims is Ramesh Pariyar, 48, while the identities of others have not been revealed.

Five policemen and four civilians were being treated. The bodies of the four victims have been kept at Bhairahawa Medical College.

When the administration tried to use force to remove the encroached settlement, the locals started attacking the police. Police opened fire at the scene. Police have not disclosed the name and address of the deceased.

District Administration Office Rupendehi has issued curfew order in Motipur. The administration has designated four forts and issued a curfew order from 4 pm today until further notice.
