Kathmandu: Nominations of four categories under the 17th edition of ‘NSJF Pulsar Sports Award’ to be organized by Nepal Sports Journalists have been made public on Tuesday.
As every year, the forum has made public the nominations of men, women, young players and coaches of the year. Bikesh Kuthu of football, Gopichandra Parki of athletics, Kamal Shrestha of taekwondo, Mandekaji Shrestha of karate and Subash Tamang of golf have been nominated for the man of the year award.
Anu Adhikari of Karate, Ayesha Shakya of Taekwondo, Gaurika Singh of Swimming, Santoshi Shrestha of Athletics and Soni Gurung of Triathlon have been nominated for Women’s Player of the Year.
Sanju Chaudhary of Weightlifting, Sina Limbu Maden of Taekwondo, Subash Tamang of Golf, Poonam Shrestha of Judo and Bhupen Shrestha of Taekwondo have been nominated for the Young Player of the Year award. .
The players and coaches were selected by an 11-member selection committee formed under the coordination of Govinda Regmi, secretary of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum.
Earlier, the organizing forum has made public the nominations for the People’s Choice category. The voting line of Gaurika Singh of swimming, Mandekaji Shrestha of karate, Aruna Shahi of volleyball, Sadina Shrestha of basketball and Savitra Bhandari of football is continuing in the People’s Choice category. The winner of the People’s Choice category will be selected on the basis of voting through e-service, Facebook Like, members of the organizing Nepal Sports Journalists Forum and the head coaches of various national associations.
The Pulsar Sports Awards will also honor Mercury Athletes, Specials, Lifetime Achievements, Team of the Year Awards and International Sports Journalists. From this year, the Mercury Athlete Award will be given as ‘Mercury Athlete Honor’, according to the organizers.
The winners of the Men’s, Women’s, Trainer and People’s Choice categories of the year will receive the Pulsar Motorcycle Award. The winners of other categories will get attractive gift hampers from Kelmi, Dish Home along with Rs 50,000 each. The award ceremony will be held semi-virtually on December 11 at Karate Hall, Satdobato, Lalitpur.
