Kathmandu: A foreign national has been arrested with drugs at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.
The arrested person is 41-year-old Denis Kukeria, a holder of Moldova and Romanian passports.
He was arrested on Monday along with 8 kg 740 grams of illegal hashish-like substance, 2 boarding passes with Turkish Airlines bag tags, 2,500 Indian rupees, 2,390 Euros, 260 pounds sterling and 3 mobile phones from the baggage checking area of the international flight.
The police arrested him in the morning. While checking his luggage, he was about to depart from Kathmandu via Istanbul to Zurich, Switzerland by Turkish Airlines flight, and police found that amount of drugs and cash, which were wrapped in a false button and wrapped with brown plastic were being carried.
