Kathmandu: In the last one week, 17 people have died due to floods, landslides and inundation caused by incessant rains. Three died in Sindhupalchowk, three in Doti, one each in Saptari, Kavre, Gorkha, Jumla, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Kaski, Kalikot, Bajura, Bajhang and Pyuthan.
At least 17 people have been injured in floods, landslides and inundation from June 15 to Saturday afternoon. Of them, five are in Sindhupalchowk, 3/3 in Myagdi and Doti, two in Jumla, 1/1 in Kaski, Syangja, Chitwan and Salyan. The injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Twenty-two people have gone missing in floods and landslides. There are 21 people in Sindhupalchowk and one in Bajura and they are being searched for, according to Nepal Police. A total of 109 people including 94 in Sindhupalchowk, eight in Salyan, four in Dang, and three in Kanchanpur have been rescued.
