Flood update: nine killed, four missing in last three days

Kathmandu: Floods, landslides and drowning after incessant rains have killed nine people and left four missing in the last three days.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, five people have been injured and 42 houses have been completely damaged due to the disaster following the incessant rains for last three days. A total of 756 people have been kept in safe shelters due to the disaster.

The authority has urged the public to be safe citing that there is a possibility of rain till Tuesday.

The government has been providing Rs 50,000 for the construction of temporary housing, Rs 500,000 for reconstruction in the Himalaya district, Rs 400,000 in the hills and Rs 300,000 in the Terai district.
