Finance Minister instructs to raise remittance and tourism activities

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has urged the heads of missions abroad to bring in as much remittances as possible from the citizens living abroad and to conduct promotional programs to promote tourism.

He directed the Chief of Mission abroad to take initiative to increase the number of foreign tourists.

Holding a virtual meeting today Finance Minister Sharma said that all parties should work together as the government is under pressure to increase foreign exchange and make the balance of payments positive.

He urges to create an environment for more and more tourists to come to Nepal by conducting various programs of tourism promotion.

Meanwhile, he informed that the remittances have been allowed to invest in IPOs and FPOs by allocating a certain percentage.

Finance Minister Sharma also said that an environment should be created to increase foreign investment in Nepal by organizing investment conferences.
