Finance and Home Ministers directs to control revenue leakage

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane have directed the subordinate agencies to work effectively in controlling revenue leakage.

A meeting of the Central Revenue Leakage Control Committee was held on Wednesday.

Both ministers were present in the meeting. The Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Finance Secretary, Revenue Secretary, Head of Security Agency and Director General of Revenue Administration Department were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, Finance Minister Paudel said that currently Nepal is facing challenge to collect revenue. He directed everyone to carry out their respective responsibilities honestly. He also directed to make up for the shortfall in revenue collection.

In the meeting, Home Minister Lamichhane assured that there will be no reduction in the activity of the Ministry of Home Affairs in controlling revenue leakage at border crossings.

He also directed the head of the security agency to make an immediate action plan and work.

He has also instructed the employees to work confidently with high morale without any political pressure and influence.
