Entrepreneurs urge govt not to halt tourist activities

Kathmandu: The tourism entrepreneurs have demanded the government not to halt the tourist activities compliance with the standards of public health.

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has held discussions with organizations and individuals concerned with the tourism sector as the transmission of the new variant Omicron of coronavirus is rising everyday.

Private sector organizations and tourism entrepreneurs suggested to make tourism viable by adhering to health standards.

Executive Chief of Tourism Board Dhananjay Regmi claimed that the board has been conducting various programs in the past despite the transition of covid and limited resources.

Speaking on the occasion, Achyut Guragai, President of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents, NATTA, said that there is no alternative but to increase the booster vaccine against covid and make tourism viable by adhering to health standards.
