CCMC recommends closing schools till January 29

Kathmandu: A meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CMCC) has recommended to the Cabinet to close schools across the country till January 29.

A meeting held on Sunday decided to recommend the closure of basic and secondary schools across the country as a winter vacation.

The meeting has also requested to vaccinate students between 12 and 17 years of age and teachers, staff and parents above 18 years of age even while the school is closed.

The meeting also recommended to the Ministry of Home Affairs to close the assembly, conference and other programs for more than 25 people. The meeting has decided to make the vaccination card compulsory while going for government services, to make the vaccination card mandatory on domestic flights and to intensify the testing and vaccination campaign.

The decision of CCMCC will be implemented after it is passed by the cabinet meeting.
