Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused the President and the Prime Minister of not having the culture of a republic.

Giving best wishes on the occasion of Republic Day, Deuba said that the success of any state system depends on the character and behavior of the leader who leads it.

“If the culture and behavior of the country’s president and prime minister are not conducive, the country will have to suffer the consequences and we are suffering today,” he said.

“Therefore, on this date of Republic Day, I appeal to all Nepalis to be serious about this and resolve to move forward by overcoming this challenge, ”Deuba said.

Paying homage to all the known and unknown heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the historic people’s movements for the establishment and restoration of democracy, Deuba said that the country should be led on the path of economic prosperity by protecting the constitution and institutional development of federal democratic republican system of governance.

Deuba also accused the government of being indifferent and insensitive towards the lives of the people at a time when the country is facing a difficult and sensitive situation due to the Corona pandemic.
