Kathmandu: Defense Minister Dr. Minendra Rijal has said that he resigned from the post of minister to save political capital and not out of emotion.
After losing the post of General Secretary at the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, Rijal announced his resignation at a press conference at the Ministry of Defense on Thursday afternoon.
He clarified that he had resigned from the post of defense minister to save the ‘political capital’ he had acquired from his long political career. Rijal also said that he stood up with confidence that he could move forward with determination and not as a defeated or tired soldier in politics.
After Rijal submitted his resignation letter to the Prime Minister, a press conference was organized at the Ministry.
