Kathmandu: In a significant move aimed at bolstering its logistical capabilities, e-commerce behemoth Daraz is poised to lease over 10 acres of land in the Kathmandu Valley. The land lease, spanning a period of 10 years, is intended to facilitate the construction of essential infrastructure to support the company’s operations.
Daraz has outlined specific requirements for the land it intends to lease, indicating that it should be situated within a distance of 3 to 4 kilometers from the ring road, a crucial artery in the Kathmandu Valley’s transportation network. Additionally, the company has mandated that the land must have direct access via a 20-feet wide road, ensuring seamless connectivity to transportation routes.
The call for proposals, issued by Daraz on Friday, has set in motion a process for interested parties to submit their proposals, complete with pricing details. The deadline for proposal submission has been set for April 27, underscoring the urgency of the initiative.
This move by Daraz underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing its logistical infrastructure, a crucial component in its ability to efficiently serve customers across Nepal. As e-commerce continues to thrive in the country, investments in logistics are becoming increasingly pivotal, with companies like Daraz striving to meet the growing demand for fast and reliable delivery services.
The leasing of land for logistics infrastructure represents a strategic step forward for Daraz as it seeks to further solidify its position as a leading e-commerce player in Nepal. With the call for proposals now underway, anticipation is high for the development of state-of-the-art facilities that will enable Daraz to meet the evolving needs of its customers while driving the growth of e-commerce in the region.
