Country marks 70th International Customs Day

Kathmandu: Today, the 70th International Customs Day is being celebrated organizing various programs.

According to the decision of the World Customs Organization, this day is being celebrated on every January 26. The main slogan of the day is to make the customs service efficient through digital technology.

On the occasion of this day, Nepal government is going to fully implement one-door online system in customs offices across the country from Wednesday. The Customs Department said that the online system is being fully implemented in all the customs offices with the objective of making the customs ‘cashless’ and ‘paperless’ by removing all the hassles in importing goods from abroad.

The online system is being implemented to make it more systematic as work is being done to facilitate trade at the customs checkpoints. The department claims that entrepreneurs will be freed from the hassle they are facing after the one-door system.
