Kathmandu: The government has decided to vaccinate senior citizens above 60 years of age against COVID-19 from March 7.
A meeting of the Incident Command System of the Ministry of Health on Wednesday decided to vaccinate senior citizens above 60 years of age. “The population is about 2.8 million people over 60 years of age,” said Dr Jageshwar Gautam, a spokesman for the ministry. It is also coming through covaxs. So there is no shortage of vaccines.”
Earlier, the ministry had made internal preparations as per the plan to vaccinate people above 55 years of age. “People over the age group of 55 and under will soon be vaccinated,” he said, adding that priority is now given to citizens over 60 for vaccine management.
