Continuous rainfall blocked major highways of the country

Kathmandu: Due to continuous rainfall and landslides, major highways are blocked during Dashain season.

The Waling-Galyang section of the Siddharth highway connecting Sunauli-Pokhara has also been blocked by landslides.

According to the Syangja District Police Office, the road was blocked due to a landslide in Galang-8 Jholpe around 4 am. The Siddharth Highway, which was blocked at Kubinde on the border of Syangja and Kaski, has been opened in one direction.

Due to continuous rain, the road connecting Besi city in Lamjung and Chame in Manang has been blocked.

According to the local administration, the road was blocked due to a landslide in Nason Rural Municipality-3 Khotro of Manang. As the impact of the low pressure system developed in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the northwest, Nepal is also receiving continuous rain.
