Climbers achieve first ascent of virgin peak ‘Jugal 5’

Kathmandu: A group of climbers has achieved a historic first ascent by scaling a previously untouched peak in Sindhupalchowk.
A team of acclaimed climbers, including Pemba Dorje Sherpa, Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, and Tenzing Jangbu Sherpa from the USA, as well as singer Sajja Chaulagain and Jaime Salinas from Mexico, reached the summit of Jugal 5 peak on Tuesday.

The climbers have safely returned to their base camp.

This expedition, conducted under the ‘First Ascent Nepal, USA, and Mexico Friendship Expedition,’ was granted climbing permits for Jugal 3 (6,184m), Jugal 4 (5,936m), and Jugal 5 (5,922m) by the Department of Tourism.
