Kathmandu: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has clarified that it has no plans to privatize or transform the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) into a private company.
Issuing a statement today, spokesperson for the ministry Taranath Adhikari said that misleading information was disseminated from various people.
According to the Ministry, there has been no discussion regarding the privatization process of Nepal Airlines. The statement did not comment on the process though.
Earlier, the Nepal Airlines Corporation has prepared a draft of management letter and regulations to be converted into a company as per the demand of the Ministry of Finance and submitted it to the Ministry of Tourism.
As soon as the corporation submitted the draft to tourism, the employees of the corporation have continued to protest.
