Kathmandu: Bangladesh has made a winning start in the tri-nation Cup football which started on Tuesday.
Bangladesh defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Olympic team 1-0 with the help of a suicide goal. Kyrgyzstan’s Kumarabaj Ulu Beiman scored a suicide goal in the match played at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor. Bangladesh took the lead in the 30th minute with a suicide goal.
Kyrgyzstan’s Kumarabaj Ulu Beiman scored on his own post off a ball crossed by Bangladesh forward Saad Uddin.
Bangladesh had a chance to score in the second half but could not finish. Bangladesh became the hub in the first half.
Towards the end of injury time, Kyrgyzstan’s Taseev Kamolidin failed to score on a free header. Bangladesh national team defeated Kyrgyzstan for the first time. Earlier, Kyrgyzstan had won four of the four matches between the senior teams of the two countries.
Bangladesh is close to the final by winning the first game. The top two teams will play the final after a single round robin league match between the three teams. Nepal will play its first match against Kyrgyzstan on Thursday in the tournament organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
