Argentina in finals of Worldcup after 8 years, France and Morocco playing second match of semifinals today

Kathmandu: Argentina reached the final of the FIFA World Cup after eight years defeating Croatia 3-0 in the semi-finals.
Eight years ago, Argentina reached the World Cup final in Brazil, finishing as runners-up when they lost to Germany.

Captain Lionel Messi gave Argentina the lead by scoring a penalty in the 34th minute of Tuesday night’s game at Lucelle Stadium.

Argentina were awarded a penalty after Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic fouled Julian Alvarez.

Argentina took a 2-0 lead in the first half with Alvarez’s goal less than 5 minutes later. In the second half, Alvarez, who was unmarked inside the 6-yard box, converted Messi’s pass from near the bye line into a goal to secure a 3-0 win for Argentina.

Tonight France and Morocco are playing against each other to reach the final.
