Kathmandu: Airline operators have disageed the government’s decision of fuel price hike.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN), the airline operators have expressed their disagreement with the fuel price hike. Internally, the Nepal Oil Corporation had decided to increase the price of aviation fuel by Rs 10 per liter.

The airline operators disagreed with the price hike of Rs 10 per liter on aviation fuel, stating that it would increase air fares. According to airline operators, aviation fuel is more expensive in Nepal than in neighboring countries.

Companies have complained that if the price of fuel is increased without discussing with the stakeholders, it will affect the business.

The corporation had decided to increase the price of aviation fuel by Rs 10 per liter with effect from last Friday. This is sure to increase air fares.
