Agriculture Minister claims no fertilizer shortage this year

Kathmandu: Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Dr. Beduram Bhusal said that the government has 284 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in stock.

Minister Bhusal said in the finance committee meeting under the House of Representatives on Monday that the government has 284 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in stock and said that there is no shortage of fertilizers.

He claimed that even though the federal government entrusted the municipality with importing chemical fertilizers and distributing them, they were not able to do a good job.

It was his accusation that the co-operative organization, which was entrusted with the distribution of fertilizer after the recommendation of the municipality, committed the scam.

Minister Bhusal said that action has been taken against the miscreants in fertilizer distribution in Kavre, Palpa, Ilam, Kapilvastu and other districts.

He said that all the fertilizers that the government should bring this year have arrived and 25 thousand metric tons of fertilizers are on the way.
