Kathmandu: Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari has stressed on the need for direct flights to promote trade and tourism between the two countries.
Speaking at an event organized by the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ambassador said that the two countries now have very cordial relations and if direct flights between the two countries could be started, trade relations would also take off.
The official said that Pakistan International Airlines should take initiative for Kathmandu-Islamabad flight. He also stressed on the need to take concrete steps for the development of trade and tourism between the two countries.
Since assuming office as Nepal’s ambassador to Pakistan, Ambassador Adhikari has been proposing direct flights between the two countries.
He has been making the proposal in meetings with various Pakistani ministers and high-ranking officials. As there is no direct flight between Kathmandu and Islamabad, there is a long route and transit to Pakistan.
