Kathmandu: The cabinet has approved the proposal to set up a fertilizer factory in the country. The proposal submitted by Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Padmakumari Aryal was approved by the cabinet meeting held on Thursday.
Minister for Agriculture Aryal informed that the government is going to set up a fertilizer factory for the long-term solution of the problem faced by Nepali farmers due to lack of chemical fertilizer every year.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has also decided to give responsibility to the Office of the Board of Investment to prepare and implement the necessary procedures to build a chemical fertilizer factory in Nepal under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality and to build the infrastructure of chemical fertilizer factory.
