Kathmandu: Mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidhya Sundar Shakya has urged not to obstruct the reconstruction work of the historically important Dharahara.
Addressing the inaugural function of the 7th convention and 13th general assembly of the Khichapokhari New Road Trade Association, Shakya said that some vested interests were trying to obstruct the construction of Dharahara under various pretexts.
According to Shakya, the two sides should have a positive attitude towards each other as the construction of Dharahara will benefit both the residents and businessmen of the area. Stating that he had received the most abuse during the construction of Dharahara, he said that he would not get involved in the protests and slogans of a group of metropolises.
Shakya also urged everyone to be responsible from their own place and not by blaming each other.
Shakya pointed out the need for everyone to help make the economy run in an integrated manner as the vaccination campaign against corona has already started.
