Kathmandu: In a critical legal development, the appeal hearing of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane regarding the Kathmandu District Court’s ruling in a rape case is advancing at the Patan High Court. Presiding over the session are Judges Sudarshan Dev Bhatta and Anju Upetri Dhakal.
The Kathmandu District Court had issued a significant verdict, sentencing Sandeep to an eight-year prison term for the alleged rape of ‘Gaushala 26’.
In response to the ruling, Sandeep initiated an appeal process at the Patan High Court, seeking to challenge the district court’s decision. The case has encountered several delays, marking its fifth postponement since its inception at the higher court.
With the proceedings set to continue on Wednesday, all eyes are on the courtroom as the legal saga surrounding Sandeep Lamichhane unfolds.
