Kathmandu: Former British Gorkha Soldier Hari Bahadur Budha Magar from Rolpa, who lost both legs above the knee, has successfully scaled Mount Everest.
According to the Department of Tourism, Magar climbed Mount Everest yesterday afternoon with the help of an artificial leg.
Magar, who joined the British Gurkha Army in 1999, lost both his legs above the knee in a Taliban ambush in 2010 during the war in Afghanistan.
Four hundred and seventy-eight people have taken permission to climb Mount Everest this year.
Meanwhile, 11 people have lost their lives while climbing Mount Everest this year. So far, the bodies of 11 people have been rescued and two are missing.
