Kathmandu: 14 people stranded in Dhaulagiri base camp due to bad weather were rescued by helicopter on Tuesday.
14 people including tourist guides, khachada drivers and porters who had reached Dhaulagiri base camp were rescued by helicopter.
However, the rescue was delayed due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions along with continuous rain for five days from the day of Dashain Tika.
After five consecutive days of heavy snowfall in the Himalayan region along with the monsoon rains that developed in the Bay of Bengal and entered Nepal, the tourists, helpers and laborers who had arrived there were trapped in the snow.
