Kathmandu: The Election Commission (EC) has so far estimated that 64 percent of votes have been cast across the country.
The commission said in a press conference this evening that it had estimated that 64 percent of votes have been cast in the country so far and that the number could increase.
Speaking at the press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that the initial estimate is 64 percent.
He further said that only 52 percent of votes have been cast in Kathmandu valley. The commission has concluded that the votes have not been cast as per the expectation.
Meanwhile, voting has been postponed in 44 stations of 17 municipalities in 14 districts.
Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya said that the commission is concerned about the security arrangements and the arrangements of the political parties.
