Police make public accused of Bhagarathi murder case

Kathmandu: Police have made public Dinesh Bhatta involved in the murder of Bhagarathi Bhatta in Dogadakedar Rural Municipality -7 of Baitadi.

Bhatta, was made public by the police after his involvement in the case was confirmed.

At a press conference held at the District Police Office, Baitadi, Far-Western Provincial Police Chief Uttam Raj Subedi said that Bhatta was arrested on the basis of technical evidence, eyewitness and evidence.

In a statement to the police, Bhatta said that Bhagarathi was killed in retaliation. According to police, Bhagarathi’s father had abused his aunt and killed her.

After the incident, he took part in a demonstration demanding justice for Bhagarathi. However, his close acquaintances have said that his behavior has changed, according to the police.

Subedi said that some evidence was collected at the scene and sent to the laboratory. Subedi said that a detailed investigation would be carried out against him by extending the term.

Saying that they have successfully investigated the case, the locals have honored the officials including DIG Subedi by placing flowers on them.

Bhatta, who went to study at Sanatan Secondary School on January 7, did not return home till evening. Her family had started searching for her. Her body was found 50 meters below the road in the afternoon.

His body was found in the Community Forest on the way from Darchula to Baitadi.

The post-mortem report showed that Bhatta had sustained head and hand injuries and died of strangulation. After the incident, the police had ordered a tacker dog from the dog branch in Dhangadhi, which indicated that the accused had gone to Khochlek Bazaar.
