Work permit for Malaysia resumes after two years

Kathmandu: The government has decided to resume the work permit for workers going to Malaysia, which has been the major destination country of Nepali workers.

Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has decided to resume the work in accordance with the prevailing law as the work of issuing labor permit to the workers going to Malaysia has been stopped for about two years.

It has been decided to approve the demand letter certified by the Nepalese diplomatic mission so as not to contradict the prevailing Foreign Employment Act, 2064 BS and the Nepal-Malaysia Labor Agreement so as not to lose the employment opportunities received by Nepalis from the Allied Government of Malaysia.
