Kathmandu: CPN-UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Province 1.
He was appointed as the chief minister by the state chief Parshuram Khapung based on the Article 168 (2) of the constitution.
60 MPs from CPN-Maoist Center, RPP and Janata Samajwadi Party have supported Karki, who was elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly for the second time from Jhapa Region No. 5, as the Chief Minister.
