Kathmandu: The three-day trade fair organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the 111th International Women’s Day has come to an end.
The best participants and stalls of the fair organized by the Nepal Women’s Chamber under the Nepal Chamber of Commerce have been awarded, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
The participants were awarded by Inspector General of Armed Police Force Shailendra Khanal. Mandala Silk, a participant in the fair, bagged the first place, while Agni Nepal Pvt. Ltd. bagged the second place and Gorkha Chamber of Commerce bagged the third place in the trade fair.
While distributing the award, Inspector General Khanal said that only a society that respects women can be a civilized society. He urged the entrepreneurs to take the country on the path of industrialization by promoting small and cottage industries.
At the closing ceremony of the fair, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kazi Shrestha said that the program was successful in a way of encouraging women entrepreneurs and marketing their products. Similarly, Urmila Shrestha, chairperson of Nepal Women’s Chamber, the organizer of the trade fair, said that such programs are being conducted to increase the level and capacity of Nepali women entrepreneurs and make them competitive at the international level.
There were 90 stalls of daily necessities, food, handicrafts, traditional materials, jewelry, clothes and shoes at the fair.
