Kathmandu: A total of 6,000 candidates acrossed the country has registered their nomination for House of Representatives and Provincial election.
About 2,500 people have nominated for the House of Representatives elections across the country.
According to the latest information of the Election Commission, out of 2,452 candidates in the country, only 229 are women and the remaining 2,223 are men.
Meanwhile, 3,326 candidates have been nominated in the provincial election. There are 286 women and 3,039 are men. There is one member of ‘other’ gender in the provincial assembly.
According to the Election Commission, due to problems in the internet, the nominations and other details of some districts including Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, Humla, Dolpa of Karnali Province have not been received.
It is estimated that the number of candidates will increase further when the details are collected from all sides.
